Sarah Palin Is a Quitter: Gives Up Before End of First Term as Alaska Governor
She was elected Governor of Alaska in November 2006 and took office in January. Just two and a half years later, she's already quitting--having accomplished almost nothing. She's not ready for any national job, not even US Senator from Alaska. She's a serious celebrity, but not a serious person when it comes to governing.

Update | 4:59 p.m. Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska announced Friday that she would step down by the end of the month and not seek a second term as governor, fueling speculation that she is seriously weighing whether to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012.
Ms. Palin, who was Senator John McCain’s vice presidential running mate last year and solidified the support of the party’s conservative base, explained her decision at a news conference at her home in Wasilla, Alaska, accompanied by her husband, Todd, and other family members.
“We know we can effect positive change outside of government,” she said in making the announcement

Oh, June Cleavage is merely cashing in what few chips she has left to pay her legal bills. Face it, Palin's political career is over. The GOP is not going to forget that McCain was tanked because the voters had absolutely ZERO confidence in a Palin Presidency, in the event the grim reaper caught up to Gramps. The GOP is done with that woman, no matter how hard the they pretend to publicly suck it graciously up and walk it off with dignity. What's more, no living politician who values his/her future in politics is ever going to risk coupling up with Palin as a running mate. The woman is Dan Quayle in a wig and Coco Channel suit, with fierce Prada pumps. That, and all these lame and shady grifting scams she's deploying to raise needful cash, for which Alaska Law Enforcement is constantly smacking her hands on the news, have worked only to intensify the Justice Department's scrutiny of her ethics, catapulting her embarrassingly from her once-haughty perch on the moral high ground.
Alas, Palin has read and reread the memo informing her that she hasn't a snowball's chance in a Mississippi summer of being Madame Snowwoman, let alone Madame President. On Tuesday, 04NOV08, the American people made crystal clear that we didn't trust her and Gramps to run down to the local Seven-11 to get us beer and cigarettes, let alone run the United States government. We have already endured the unchecked and unchallenged pathocracy of one criminally psychotic narcissist with fiendish delusions of granduer and an unreasonable sense of unilateral global entitlement. America needed someone with a demonstratably measurable IQ and an impressive command of the English language this trip. Some appreciation for the rule of law, both foreign and domestic, was also a requirement. And, Sarah concedes that she has none of that, for all of her claims to be ready like Sponge Bob on Day-1.
Palin is emerging from her initial political denial to pursue other opportunities, while she's still afforded some limelight. The Presidency of the United States of America isn't some reality show where an appointed serfdom fulfills Presidential obligations the elected President either has no desire or no erudition and skill to complete, for every administration but Bush43, at any rate. In the real world, the President represents the people of the United States of America to the world. And, God love her, Governor Palin was never going to be buffed and polished by GOP handlers or anyone else well enough in time to pull that off by 2012. That poor woman is simply overwhelmed. She's been in over her head almost every day since leaving the Wasilla City Council. And, she knows that, and now wants to be out of politics and on TV doing something positive that allows her cash and authority with zero responsibility. And, why not? Limbaugh is a right wing power broker and king maker, making a butt-load of cash, despite his mediocre ratings. And, he's fat, obtuse, vulgar, and not very attractive. Surely, the former Gov can unseat him. After all, the one-time Miss Congeniality is nothing if not gorgeous and charming. Rupert Murdoch would sell off an asset to insure teams of subject matter experts did all the cerebral heavy lifting needed to transform this Alaskan road lizard into the consummate wordly Rhodes Scholar for a few hours every day. It's definitely a far better fit for the struggling communications grad than national politcs.
